Real Estate broker and Film Producer Talmadge Davis on breaking barriers and helping small business owners through her enterprise, Million Dollar Corporations

Talmadge Davis has been a hidden figure in the International real estate market for over two decades. At a time when women are still fighting for opportunities and equality in pay, she is considered a trailblazer — closing deals both domestic and internationally.

In Women’s History month, she’s making her way from behind the scenes unto the red carpet. No stranger to Hollywood, Davis is a credited producer on “Voice From the Sit in.” The film was nominated for Best Documentary at the Sundance Film Festival and her business in Hollywood is far from over.

She’s on a mission — not only has she always wanted to change the trajectory of the way society sees gender, race, and color, but she has desired to be an agent of transformation by helping small businesses receive the financial and educational tools that they need to thrive in a post-pandemic ecomony.

With the Oscar awards just days ahead and the Grammy’s around the corner, Davis sat down with Medium.com to talk about international business deals, being a producer in Hollywood, and much more.

What has been the secret to your success?

My secret weapon is putting God first in everything, including prayer for my clients in need. No matter what race, creed, or religion, everyone has a need and so if I can solve or fulfill the need of my client it’s a successful outcome for them as well as my company, Million Dollar Corporations. Dealing with post-pandemic, international social justice issues, and now war, I realize that people are in financial distress and need the money more than ever. I Specialize in helping my clients obtain small business funding, lines of credit, merchant advances, vehicle financing, and equipment financing for small business owners. So even though we are living in trying times because of the service that I offer God has placed my clients and me in a position to win.

As a Black businesswoman on the international stage of finance and business brokering, what are some of the obstacles you’ve had to overcome?

As a black businesswoman there are always going to be obstacles. I had to learn to be the best in whatever industry I was in. Some of the obstacles that I had to overcome were educating myself on the politics of business and being able to properly conduct business no matter who or what I was dealing with. I had to place myself around the right circle of people. Learning to stay committed and steadfast on the dreams and goals that I set my mind to as a teenager. No matter how difficult or how trying times became, I refused to give up on being a successful black businesswoman in America. I knew when I was very young that if I was able to accomplish my goals that I for sure would be able to leave a legacy behind for the next generation to come.

What’s next for you?

International travel to share my knowledge and insights with people around the world. I’m hoping to leave my footprints in the hearts of the masses.

What words do you live by?

The words I live by are hardwork, dedication, and trust in God.
